Getting the staff involved in a little DIY stamping takes pressure off the designer and helps everyone feel a little bit more like we’re all in this together. The simple type system and well-composed seal combine with the textural quality of rubber stamp to generate rustic but sophisticated building blocks for easy communication.

Project Description

La Canya was a wonderful project to work on, since we had the chance and responsibility of taking care of the complete project: from the interiors to the food, brand.. We even had to go flea-market-hunting for croquery and vintage furniture!

It was also fantastic to have clients coming in to say hello even before the works had started. We had the chance to meet the neighbourhood, the people, their dogs..!! This very helpful since we had an extremely limited budget and only one month from the idea to the opening!

So DIY was our deal. We did all the the woodwork and kept it simple and friendly. The same idea was applied to the branding and all which is printed. We designed a system and a 'set of tools' for them to use, so everything is actually co-produced by the staff.

Production Lesson(s)

In the case of the business cards we ended up printing one side of them and stamping the other one ourselves.. It allowed us a smaller type size for the contact details (more legible too) and it was so much easier to have the cards cut by someone else :)”
