Project Description

I've been a photographer for a little over seven years now. As I got busier and wanted to push myself to the next level, I felt it was time to start looking for a rep. Rather than doing an email blast or a simple postcard, I wanted to create a promo that would stand out from the other promos and show the level of detail and pride I have in my marketing and my image while fitting within my marketing budget. Knowing I'd be letterpressing my name on the envelope I wanted a quality thick paper suitable for letter pressing. The paper I went with was the 100% cotton Reich Savoy. Each envelope was then letter pressed by Dependable Letterpress in San Francisco. The postcards themselves were printed by Modern Postcard. Once the cards were loaded into the main envelope, I put it in a clear envelope with a custom label attached for mailing.

Production Lesson(s)

The design for the enclosure that was going to hold the postcards changed over the course of the design process. Some of the design choices were not feasible due to the cost of creating a custom enclosure. I was happy to find Envelopment envelopes because they fit exactly what I was looking for in an envelope but were much cheaper than a custom envelope. When working within a budget, if you search hard enough you might just find a ready-made solution that works perfectly.”
