Project Description

This was a report commissioned by the Canadian Council for International Co-operation to address the urgency needed to act upon the threat of global poverty. Every second wasted further en-debts and destroys entire nations of people. The concept was to remind people even while reading this report the time slipping by, even as the turn from one page to the next. This is demonstrated by the flip page animation of a clock, or counter ticking away with the turn of each page. This project contains one die-cut in the corner to draw attention to the "counter".

Production Lesson(s)

This was a challenging project, mostly in design terms as the client had very strict brand guidelines and limited budget. We had only one font available to us (Frutiger) and one color which we could use (PANTONE 3165 U). Added to this difficulty, we had no pictures available to us. This meant that the report was to be entirely text based, but we had to find a way to make it engaging and interesting to the readers. We responded to this by using the report weakness (an immense page count) as a strength and developed the flip page animation counter/clock concept.”
