Lead Image

There is no doubt that neon is making a comeback, but this is no 1980s inspired book cover. With a great contrast between the chipboard, the burned edges, and the bright colors it all comes together beautifully with its unique binding.

Project Description

Oporto Design created the graphic project for the Master Degree Conclusion Book "Design of Art Catalogs exhibitions in Sao Paulo between 1912 and 1950" using only manual processes for making each book. The spine is assembled with a seam Japanese style and cover consists of a printing plate laser cut MDF, resulting in a tactile work and artistically rich.

Production Lesson(s)

Working with manual process can be a surprise. It can be hard to predict the time it will take and the way the material will respond to the process. Although. Besides that, it is quite pleasant since the final result can be really appealing.”
