Designers often feel like they need to design their own wedding invitations so they can get what they want and express themselves through the process. It makes sense that the invitations feel more personal if you design them yourself. Tanya Duffy took it one step further by designing and letterpressing her wedding invitations making them feel even more personal and worthwhile.

Project Description

Wedding stationery materials including logo design and custom typeface. The logo was stamped on tags and letterpressed onto coasters which were used as favors.

Production Lesson(s)

While designing the invitations for my wedding, I took the time to play with custom type and draw something from scratch. We had a copper plate of the logo produced and printed the drink coasters ourselves at a small letterpress shop. We also had a stamp made which we used on tags and various other materials. Being involved in the printing process made the work feel much more personal and worthwhile in the end.”
