Lead Image

This may not be as clever as the arrow in the FedEx logo or Paul Rand’s famous rebus for IBM (an eye, a bee, and the logo’s striped “M”) but I thought it was clever enough to make a poster out of it and aim for some patriotic customers. Can you read the poster without me explaining it? (The explanation is on the right column under Project Description).

If you like it and want to deck your Fourth of July party in style, the poster is available for purchase here at 15 bucks a pop, shipping included.

Project Description

A Fourth of July-themed poster based on a rebus celebrating the independence of the thirteen original colonies by replacing the “13” of this year with their representative thirteen, red-and-white stripes in the United States flag.

Production Lesson(s)

When you want red just ask for 'red'. Not PMS Warm Red or PMS 032. Red. Out of the can.”
