Project Description

15/115 (15 Years,115 Projects) is the second book from Graphic Designer Mark Bloom aka Mash Creative.
—
Featuring 115 projects spanning a 15 year career to date, divided into three chapters: 15 × Posters, 80 × Logos and 20 × Case studies. The book also features a foreword from renowned designer, blogger and author David Airey.
—
Beautifully printed by Screaming Colour on a tactile mix of GFSmith papers, the book features a blind debossed and white foiled cover with thread sewn spine for lay-flat spreads. Printed full colour throughout with fluorescent orange ink and logo throw out page. A must-have purchase for your book shelf.

Production Lesson(s)

As a self published book I underestimated the amount of time and money needed to produce 15/115 There were a few challenges when printing, for example - when printing a rich black cover on a gravure emboss paper it had to be double hit and even after this there were still a few specs of white showing through, secondly when foiling the cover, as the paper had a texture it meant it was a lot harder to achieve a crisp edge to the foil. I spent a lot of time liaising with both the printer and the paper merchant, testing papers and discussing print techniques. I believe this was time well spent as when it came back from print it was everything I had hoped for and more.”
