Cameron Sandage designed this series of felt pennants for a charity art show in Portland, OR. The show raised money for a local charity through the sale of thirty different artists’ pennant designs. Proceeds went to benefit the building of an all-season soccer field in the New Columbia area of Portland, Oregon.

Project Description

Art Takeover: Operation Bless Field is the second year of Art Takeover, an art show put on by Factory North in association with the Timbers Army. The show benefited Operation Pitch Invasion's Bless Filed project to build a youth-sized all season pitch in the New Columbia area of Portland, Oregon. Unlike last year's show where the artist where asked to design a poster at any size with proceed going to Harpers Playground, this year we where asked to design a felt pennant. 30 of each by 30 different artist where created and sold to the public at 30 dollars a piece, all the proceeds went to benefit the building of Bless Field.

Production Lesson(s)

This is the second time I have tried to use glow in the dark ink on a project, this one faired well then the initial poster I tried a few years back. But glow in the dark ink on black felt does not work as well as it would on white paper. But Siezure Palace where champs and told us they would just dump a bunch of glow in it and see what happens. It worked, the glow just needs a high enough charge to be fully visible so it's not vibrant under normal light conditions.

Next time I try to use glow, I may just use it the way we all know it will work. But it's fun to experiment and see if it will work.”
