Marton Borzak created this personal project as an outlet to exercise his obsession with thin lines. Each print features a blueprint paired with facts and images associated with the subject insect. The layering of technical symbols with typography is reminiscent of April Greiman’s “Does It Make Sense?” digital experimentation (but without the nipples).

Project Description

This is a personal project in which my obsession of thin lines are fulfilled. Every insect design has its own blueprint accompanied by textual and visual information about the chosen insect. Browsing through Wikipedia I collected interesting facts and visualized them. Besides official scientific information, my opinion has its own place as well.

Production Lesson(s)

I knew it from the beginning that it is not going to be easy to print very thin lines. Especially white on black stock. Because of the transparency of the white paint we had to run it twice with a great attention to alignment. Also we had to keep the frame wet at all times. We learned that from the first tryouts where the frame dried after a couple of seconds.”
