Project Description

A Kickstarter funded photography project, the deluxe rewards package featured a signed, hand-numbered 80-page, 8.5” x 11”, perfect-bound softcover book with a hand-stenciled cover, vintage quilt slipcase, 4" x 6" postcard set, 12" x 18" giclée print on Archival Bamboo Paper, a one-of-a-kind salvaged wood cover scrapbook, and glass vial of Alabama dirt.

Every book was printed exclusively in full-color on beautiful, 60% post-consumer, chlorine-free, FSC Certified, Ancient Forest Friendly matte paper that was manufactured with electricity that’s offset with renewable energy certificates using soy and/or vegetable-based inks only.

Production Lesson(s)

The print run was going to be 75 but with the hand-stencil being applied, we ordered extra copies in case we screwed any up along the way! In order to better our chances, we ordered extra paper samples and tested both the colors and the stencils themselves beforehand. This put us in good form where we only deemed 1 copy of the final, stenciled books unsellable. Because of that we were able to sell a few extra copies to those who had missed the funding deadline.”
