Project Description

BurdgeCooper is a specialty printer with production facilities in Los Angeles and Atlanta, with history going back a century. They wanted to produce a holiday card that reflected who they are: A forward thinking company rooted in tradition and craft. The concept was to produce a card with the message of joy, and that later developed into the message of "very merry". I was initially inspired by the idea of candy canes, because a candy cane is a very traditional symbol of the holidays, yet the diagonal stripe pattern has quite a bold and modern look. Incorporating specialty printing processes, like foil stamping, that would highlight BurdgeCooper's capabilities, and utilizing papers and colors that would add to the festive feel were significant considerations for the design.

Production Lesson(s)

Was careful to choose foils that would work well on all the colors of papers we were going to stamp on.”
