Project Description

I had been waiting to design these graduation announcements for my younger brother since the day, eight years ago now, he started school to become a pharmacist. I wanted them to be very personal and witty--both words I would use to describe Brad. For the colors, I took a slightly brighter turn on the orange of his alma mater, the University of Tennessee. For an additional personal touch, I made Brad's handwritten notes into envelope liners. His graduation with high honors truly is a joyous celebration!

Production Lesson(s)

I find it to be quite difficult to do more personal design jobs, and I am my own harshest critic. I went through over 20 different iterations of this announcement, even though I knew my brother would have been happy with the first. Finding feedback from neutral parties is key when you can easily sit there in your own personal-project bubble and do mockup after mockup, never fully satisfied. In the end, I am thrilled with how they turned out.”
