Project Description

Many people view Georgia Aquarium primarily as an entertainment attraction. EM2 was tasked with creating a short book to showcase Georgia Aquarium's equally-important efforts in research, conservation, and education. Aiming to engage potential corporate and individual donors, this book focuses on the connection between the ocean and human well-being. We wanted the piece to have a certain level of tactility, so we opted to cover the book in a silkscreened canvas case. The book itself was printed in vibrant UV inks on uncoated stock to show off the rich colors of the aquatic photography.

Production Lesson(s)

The most challenging part of this project was sourcing the canvas for the cover wrap. We needed to find the best combination of color and texture, and we had to be certain the fabric would respond well to screenprinting. Geographics and Henry + Co. were patient as we went through several mockups to find the best material. ”
