The packaging for Parse & Parcel is a great example of how using limited colors, standard brown boxes, and a clear design direction you can end up with a budget-conscious solution that looks anything but “budget”.

Project Description

Package design for Parse & Parcel, €”a subscription-based service that delivers curated collections of luxe paper, print, and design samples. The objective was to create a package that would appeal to its design professional audience—something that was both functional and beautiful. We utilized a standard kraft shipping box and wrapped it with a luxe paper sleeve. The sleeve is embossed with Parse & Parcel’€™s custom script logotype and tipped-on logo card. The assembled parcel is then wrapped in kraft and sealed custom printed shipping tape.

Production Lesson(s)

With the audience in mind, we knew we wanted to feature specialty finishing on the package sleeve. We opted for a blind emboss. Once the die was made, we tested several stocks to find the perfect match for the sculptural embossed script logotype. Allocating time for testing in our production schedule allowed us the flexibility to achieve a high quality solution.

Since we were wrapping pre-fabricated kraft shipper boxes with the finished embossed sleeves, we knew that each box would be slightly different in shape and size. To avoid complications in fit during the client's hand assembly process, we had the printer pre-score and fold sleeves. They also applied a "peel & stick" adhesive strip that lets the client custom wrap each box with sleeve.”
