From hand lettering to hand printing, this bride was all hands on deck when it came to her wedding—and I hear she had a blast in the process, and of course on the big day.

Project Description

Being a graphic designer, the wedding was an excuse to make some gorgeous letterpress-printed artwork. I had access to a print shop and a paper cutter through MICA (Thanks to Allison at Globe for your help with the printing process!) So I designed and printed the save-the-dates, invitations, detail cards, envelopes, wax seal, menus, programs, name cards, guest book, and coaster favors. It saved us a lot of money, and quality was not sacrificed!

Production Lesson(s)

The most difficult aspect of this project for me was the hand lettering for the invitation. As a newbie to lettering, it took many iterations to get right. Expert Dai Foldes provided some tips during his lettering workshop at MICA (at the time, I was a grad student in the GDMFA program).”
