After returning from the Underworld show in Chicago last night I thought that I would mention the work of Tomato, the London based design collective that the band is a part of. From film titles to books to multimedia and more Tomato & underworld continue to be an inspiration. They even hold workshops, though this year there are none scheduled for the US yet this year. Work worth taking a look at, I recomend the video collection of underworld videos and the book bareback. Don’t just take my word for it.

The review of Underworld Live:

Some hardcore fans may find the screen graphics mesmerizing, but mostly it feels like watching a screensaver with a soundtrack. If you can't wait for Underworld to come to a field near you, grab the DVD; otherwise, just go to a rave. It's cheaper. --Dave McCoy

They just don't get us [graphic designers].

Tomato's web site is one of my favorite examples of great navigation. not only is it functional, it feels good.

In my opinion, Tomato kicks ass.

There's a rumor that they'll be back in December, so you may get to see them still.
