Order your Speak Up T-shirt

Once again, I would like to congratulate Marian Bantjes for designing such a great T-shirt (dig the detail). Now on to the good stuff. By popular demand, the tees will be printed using American Apparel. The design will be printed with a metallic silver. All tees will be hand-shipped by yours truly with all the possible care and loving in the world.

If you buy this week you will be helping a great deal in getting the production up and running and figuring what and how many sizes we need to order. After that week, you will just be helping a great cause. And buying a kick-ass T-shirt. I don’t know what else you can ask for.

The price will be (US)$15.00 plus shipping and handling. Available in most popular sizes. Ordering will be done through PayPal. Select your size, click order and buy as many as you want. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to write.

And there is more!

Ten lucky people attending the AIGA conference in Vancouver will receive a free t-shirt. Completely free, just with one string attached — if a winner, you must wear it one full day at the conference (and do it with pride). How, you ask? Simple, follow this criteria:

1. You must either a) already be registered and showing as an attendee or b) show us your e-mail confirmation for the conference.

2. You must answer correctly the following three questions:

a) What is Stefan Sagmeister’s favorite typeface?
b) On what charge was Steve Heller in jail for (even if briefly)?
c) Name three (well-known) married couples who are both related to the field of graphic design.

First ten people with the correct answers will get a free T-shirt. Send me the answers by golly!

Anyone with experience with American Apparel know if the t-shirts tend to run large or small? (Are they comparable to regular old Hanes/Fruit of the Loom t-shirts [which run large] or not?)

Oops. Small size added now.

I second Colin's question. Never ordered from them before.

I've had no surprises with AA sizing so safe to say order what you'd normally wear. Their shirts actually tend to be a little on the 'fitted' side, meaning more attention to detail and slightly taken in here and there, but no where near enough to go down a size.

definitely "fitted". if you are remotely concerned go a size larger, particularly if you like looser clothing.

I would hope that at least one person that's attending AIGA Vancouver will get a free t-shirt, even without answering the skill-testing questions: Marian Bantjes.

And if you meet her and are really nice to her you may even find yourself invited to her island paradise.

Oh yeah, Marian is getting five free Tees for her own use.

And those questions for free tees remain unanswered, I have received three responses and none have gotten #2 right, hehehe. Maybe, just maybe, I might drop that question, but only if I receive more emails at least trying to answer it.

can i have a free t-shirt because i'm marian's friend? we'll be attending the AIGA conference together, so you wouldn't it be better to have two t-shirts walking around together than one?

Small question - when will the t-shirts be ready? I have a small discussion about design and design resources on the web on campus with some other alumni and current students in late October... possibly by then - would love to wear it and talk about SpeakUp and what goes on here!!

I'm completely stumped on question 2 - will the answers be revealed when the winner is announced? Is it too late to order a shirt since I (obviously) did not pass the test? :(
