Word It for November

To keep pace with the new Word It format, we are pleased to announce (in advance) the November theme for Word It:

Home

We thought it was a good time to reflect on the idea of home’: that place you go for sanctuary. For some, a place of family: Remembering Mom’s apple pies, porch swings, rustling leaves, and the garage you used to change your bike tire in. Or maybe it’s just the sideboard where you drop your keys after a long day and the smile that plays across your face because of a child’s toy on the hallway floor.

And for others, Home is not always a respite. A stack of bills. Perhaps the memories of an illness or the absence of a loved one. Or the hassle of holiday travel. More in-laws, fruit-cake, and remembering that you can’t “fix” your parents.

It’s a very private joy, or pain, that will again become a greater focus of our attention for the lack of daylight, the chill in the air and the onslaught of another holiday season.

For better or worse, there’s no place like Home.

Towards the end of the month, We will post a discussion for people to comment on the works and offer a space for the creators to provide some illumination on their submissions.

With that said, please read the new specifications for submittal and go create based on November’s word:

Word Its for "Nightmare" will continue to be posted next week, and all late-comers will be archived in the Word It section.

Armin and i will be drin... err, working really hard at the AIGA conference for the next few days. If you have any questions please be patient with us.

And if you're going to the conference, please stop by and say 'hi' ... i'll be the one with the beautiful blonde on my arm.

Damn... y'all are going to be a scant three hours away, but I still can't make it. Side road trip to Seattle?

Have fun, and be tipsy careful!

Rick,

Drive up for our party on Friday night. It's going to be a blockbuster: Soiree — Up! Besides, i'm going to need help carrying a drunk, half-naked chicago kid outta the bathroom and leave him on the curb where the patrons won't complain.

...And Mr. Tan, I'll flip you for her.

V. sweet that you think I'm beautiful without having seen me yet, but don't you think I can make my own decisions?

Sorry for the delay on the last Word Its for nightmare... going to a wedding in Mexico then a conference in Vancouver (via Seattle) is not an easy thing. Next week, next week.

And, yeah, Eric get your own blonde dude.

Maybe a picture of Armin (in tux, of course) going thru all this would make for a perfect nightmare word-it!!!
