Stop Being Sheep, Year 4

With every September, we know to expect three sure things: 1) Mexico celebrates Independence Day on the 16th (we sit and watch TV,) 2) Speak Up turns one year older, and 3) it’s time to start gathering the thousands of comments that have accumulated over the past twelve months and begin the selection process four our dearly beloved Stop Being Sheep. This year it took us a full six months to get the adorable 24-page, 2-color, 4.5” x 6.5” booklet wrapped up and it is our pleasure to make it available to you as of right now.

Stop Being Sheep Year 4, Cover

Just like last year, we are grateful for the contribution of extra delicious paper from Mohawk Fine Papers, who this year treated us with their wind-powered rendition of Strathmore Script, 100 lb. Text, Platinum White Smooth paper. And the deployment of PMSes 612 and 432 was again the task of the masterful folks at Finlay Printing.

Last year we sold Sheepies for $6.00 each plus shipping. This year, to accommodate inflation, global warming and the pain caused by American Idol’s Sanjaya, we are raising the price to a whopping $8.00 plus shipping ($1.00) — please note that shipping outside the U.S. is $3.00. We are also offering a bundle of years two through four, as we have some samples left from the Years Two and Three, for $15.00 plus shipping ($2.00 for U.S. and $4.00 for the rest of the world). Below you will find PayPal buttons for U.S. orders and everyone-else-orders. As always, thank you for your support and purchases, they keep our dreams alive — and our bank from breaking.

For those that think Ben is a little creepy and don't know what he's talking about: We had commemorative Sheepies for Year One that we auctioned a few years ago. We still have four or five of those left, maybe for their five year anniversary we'll break them out again?

Paypal, unfortunately, doesn't allow you to use a delivery address outside the country where you get your credit card bill.

So to send copies of Stop being sheep to my sister in New York (I live in India), I had to pay the extra for shipping to India, and then I'll Fedex them to her in NYC.

No big deal, but thought I'd just let you know, as your international readership is only going to increase and with it this type of situation.

Armin’s comment is:

Andy, yeah, that has always been an issue with PayPal, maybe for next year we'll set up sort of shopping cart of our own.

> as your international readership is only going to increase and with it this type of situation.

Indeed! So far we've shipped to UK, India (thanks Andy), New Zealand, Canada, France and Spain.

Bryony’s comment is:

Andy, send me the NY address via email (bryony@underconsideration.com) and I will ship directly to your sister. At least this will not involve FedEx.

hello A&B...long time stranger here. I just received Sheepie 4, and as usual, it's lovely as it is poignant. I'm truly honored to be included, and shed a small tear thinking about how much I miss my SU family. I keep making resolutions to myself that I'll visit more frequently, but alas, travel, work, and family keep me away from the proverbial pub that was my second home for many years.

It's nice knowing the neighborhood hasn't changed. I'll truly try to visit more often. I mean it....

My copy arrived this morning (I'm in the UK). Now that's service!

And it's fabulous. My congrats to Bryony and Armin for another great sheepie!

Whose handwriting was it on the envelope? Very nice - decent handwriting is a rare art these days...

Well, I paid for mine as well, and haven't received it almost a month. I'm really looking forward to getting my copy. Anyone else having the same issues?

Armin’s comment is:

Adam, sorry about that. Someone that ordered on the same day as you also didn't get their shipment, so some mailman's bag may have gotten lost that day.

A new shipment is on its way to you.

mark jaquette’s comment is:

i'm sorry . . . i'll have to be stop shopping for 'sheep' and say you cramed this one in too soon for the printing deadline, like u2's pop needing to finish so they can start the tour. the time and creativity is commendable but not bendable enough to interest me in this round. keep keeping on though .. .
