Project Description

Sojourn is a lifestyle and furnishing store owned by Stacia Garriott Kass. It is located in Sawyer, Michigan, a lovely beach community near Chicago. Stacia curates her store with found and collected items, celebrating natural materials. The identity and signage was designed to honor those materials by using a blind letterpress on simple uncoated book board, a material usually used in the guts of hardbound books. The color palette is reflective of the store's materials and the nearby beach.

Production Lesson(s)

This project was extremely smooth (I pinch myself when I say that). Rohner Letterpress is a class act, they understand the materials and techniques, and are willing to go the extra mile. Before the print run was done, Rohner let me play with different amounts of pressure with the clear emboss until we got the right one. ”
