The horse was first used on the plane of Italy’s best fighter pilot during WWI, Count Francesco Baracca. When Enzo Ferrari met the pilot’s father five years after his death on a mission, he said “Ferrari, put my son’s prancing horse on your cars. It will bring you good luck.” Link
