A tongue-in-cheek approach to business cards is a good approach to get people chatting or put in a good mood—it also helps that, as a general rule, they will remember you and your card for a long time. Add to that a fun illustrative style and you should be getting something in return from a few card exchanges.
I have a bit of a commitment problem and was having a hard time choosing between two of my designs. When Keith at Cranky Pressman suggested gang printing three designs I was thrilled. Duplexing was a bonus giving the card a nice solid 200-lb-feel and amongst the sea of designer’s business cards it feels professional despite ascii unicorns.
I haven’t gotten any new unicorn grooming business from them but designers seem to like them.
