I’m all for Zines. I think they’re interesting collaboration pieces because the only agreement that serves to inform its participants is the fact that they are participating. All intrinsic material, whether it be visual art or literature of some kind, is dependent upon one. It creates an interesting dynamic, which I believe incourages readers to form some kind of cerebral map between each page. Good choice with the cyan in contrast to grayscale.

The writing and artwork was generated by a collaborative group of 15 graphic designers, fine artists, illustrators, writers, and film students from Art Center College of Design under the advisement of Lisa Wagner and Benjamin Weissman. The content of “The Future Names of Dogs” discusses animals, the human relationship with animals, humans as animals, and writing from the point of view of animals.

A supplementary website for the publication catalogs additional full-color art and bits of writing here.
