A New Jersey designer has filed a lawsuit agains Yuengling brewery for taking a design he did (label on the right) and didn’t get paid for and shuffling it to create a new design (label on left). His lawsuit claims that “As a result of failure of payment for his work, copyright rights in and to the logo designs provided by plaintiff have not passed by license, implied license or written assignment to defendant.” Does he have a case? Or is it just one more in a long line of designers who have gotten screwed over? (Hey! Tie-in to Quip 24 below).
