More archival goodness: get lost in Life magazine on Google Books. It’s free and endless and you might come across something spectacular by Herbert Bayer, like this feature from December 1939.

As college football season kicks off today, ESPN’s college sports network, ESPNU, has been showing off new on-air graphics depicting the ESPNU logo in the form of dozens of college sports mascots (such as the Oregon State University beaver seen here). Nice work by L.A.-based National Television (linked site is Flash; go to Projects, ESPNU Rebrand).
