In keeping with a Friday Likes vibe, today’s Noted entry goes to an upstart music label in Brazil with a funky identity based around a custom monospace font that manages to add something new to that category. I love how they solved the “M” problem — “M”s in monospace fonts tend to look squished — and by being one of the letters in the logo it sort of becomes the defining character. The numerals are pretty slick too. In application I really like the primary visual treatment of reverberating the letters, creating a cool, fun texture that looks great static and killer in animation. I’m not an electronic dance music connoisseur but this seems a little more sophisticated and polished than what I would graphically associate with EDM, but I may be incorrect and EDM fans might be like “Naw, son, same thing as all the others”. Nonetheless, I enjoyed how well this expanded from logo to font to application.
