Oxygen Media today unveiled its new logo and tagline, very real, as part of the network rebrand scheduled to launch on Tuesday, Oct. 7 across all platforms. The new Oxygen will feature authentic, proudly imperfect and diverse characters with stories that are culturally relevant for young, modern women.

The old logo was kind of painful with the really odd half-sans, half-serif wordmark that was awkwardly shoved inside the "O" so it's fun to see it go. The new wordmark is far from groundbreaking but at least it's much more pleasant to look at. I am guessing we will know what purpose the underline of the "O" serves when the rebrand launches in October — in the meantime we can all commiserate about it looking like Conservation International. Color palette is nice. Tagline, "Very Real", feels very fake and very forced.
