About

NewCastle Gold operates as a gold mining company. The Company engages in the drilling, exploration, management, and production of gold mining properties. NewCastle Gold offers its services in Canada. It has a 100% interest in the Castle Mountain property in San Bernardino County, California. The Castle Mountain heap leach gold mine produced over one million ounces of gold from 1992 to 2004. The Mine and Reclamation Plan, under which the mine operated, was authorized by the County of San Bernardino as the Lead Agency and remains in effect. Water for the drill programs was accessed from existing patented wells on the Project.

Opinion

The old logo looked like a brand of VHS videotapes or even like the logo for a production company of whatever may have been inside a VHS tape. As a business doing business with Newcastle Gold I would have a hard time trusting them based on their old logo. The new logo features an abstract, gold-hued icon that, although unclear what exactly it is, it looks corporate, it looks sharp (like, literally sharp, as if you could cut your fingers on the bevel), and it maybe looks like some piece of boring (as in making holes, not as in bland) machinery. The wordmark is blunt and to the point. The applications are all solid as well; nothing jumping out as extraordinary but all well done. Although I do really like the image above with the mud-colored layers under the photograph; those look really cool. Overall, without knowing what the old identity looked like (but I can’t imagine anything that would make the old logo bearable), this is a great update that makes the company look serious and to be taken seriously.
