Project Description

A.K. Rikk’s was introducing the Pamella Roland Spring 2015 collection into the store and they wanted to mark the occasion with a trunk show. We designed an invitation suite that drew on Pamella’s inspiration for the collection itself. Picking up on her Japanese themes, we created an origami-inspired invitation that shares the hexagonal shape of the A.K. Rikk’s logo and blooms open to reveal the event details. The soft textures and glittering details evoke the spirit that Pamella’s designs are known for.

Production Lesson(s)

We spent a lot of time figuring out the fold for this. We wanted to create an origami fold that also created a hexagon to match the A.K. Rikk's logo. Since we were producing a small quantity of these, we ended up designing a custom die and having the paper cut and scored, but we hand-folded each invitation due to the intricacy of the folds and the delicate paper. The result is airy and tactile.”
