Project Description

Watercube is a strongly passionate fountain consultancy firm. The challenge that moves them is to combine creativity and engineering required in water control to give shape to the unpredictable. Our duty was to synthesise these core characteristics. To showcase and ennoble the best of the generative identity we created, special attention was dedicated to the print, binding and finishing details.

A UV-coating was added to the black sleeve to recall a water effect. On the sleeve and on the inside cover a one-level debossing finish was added to create a strong sensorial effect.

The outside of the book is mainly designed with the neutral combo of black and white. But colours play an important role on the inside though, and the z-shaped binding discloses two sides of Watercube in partitions: the greenish light blue defines Volume A and Volume B is characterised by the glossy red.

Production Lesson(s)

To achieve the results we had in store for this project we needed to be bold, to experiment not only different processes of generative branding, but especially not being afraid of proposing less conventional approaches to the editorial, print and finishing parts as well. Risk was the only way to take the client’s company brand one step further–and it was worth it.”
