Project Description

Stephen Kenn Studio needed a new set of look books to show case two of their collections: The Inheritance Collection and The Bowline Collection. We worked together with Stephen Kenn and photographer Amy Bartlam to art direct and style the photography, as well as create a cohesive vision throughout the books. The look books needed to work independently, but also complement each other as a pair for certain customers and wholesalers. We designed two separate look books that were wire-o bound as well as versions that were wire-o bound together. The result was a success in creating a uniform package that is adaptable to various needs and helps to further develop the Stephen Kenn brand.

Production Lesson(s)

The project was a really tight turnaround. From photography, editing, designing, proofing and printing we had just a matter of a few weeks which made it both exciting and stressful. While designing the books we found solutions for all of Stephen Kenn's needs- adding inserts, folds, pockets and extra pages to best communicate the two collections together and individually. The pocket allows for additional campaigns or promos to be inserted in the future as well as hosts a pricing sheet (so that as costs change over time the book doesn't become outdated) This, however, also brought the printing price higher than we had initially hoped. In the end, our client decided to go forward with the bells and whistles and it's been a huge hit and worth every penny. ”
