There is no day without night, no dark without light. Only by knowing what a form is not, are we able to comprehend what it is. Celestially connecting contrast, balance, and scale in a controlled space, shining star Estudio Menta goes back to basic principles in this DVD packaging celebrating 25 years of design in Valencia. Through his use of minimal iconography, typography, and packaging, the elements of design respectfully fade to black, inviting the tales of 25 years of luminary Spanish design to glow.

Cuarto Creciente, 25 years of design in Valencia (First Quarter Moon: 25 years of design in Valencia) is a documentary film about design in Valencia to mark the 25th anniversary of Designer’s Association of Valencian Region. We designed this folded paper packaging for the DVD, only made with Sirius Fedrigoni paper and white and luminescent silkscreen ink.
