Project Description

With a huge family and growing guest-list, our wedding stationery became one of the main areas we scrimped and saved by making them ourselves on my horribly cheap inkjet printer. But by using fancy Bristol paper bought in bulk and hand-cut to feed through the printer, the colors remained brilliant and the pieces still looked professional.

We really approached our entire wedding as a whimsical, fun, goofy, big party and that was really reflected in our stationery by the color, the hand-lettering and illustrations, and the quirky copy writing. In the end, I feel like the hand-made nature of the invitations and entire wedding package, really added to the country Ohio laid-back feel that I was going for.

Production Lesson(s)

Printing on Bristol board is obviously a risk since it could easily kill your printer... but being that mine was already 5+ years old, I kinda was hoping it would break! Instead, I learned that ordering smooth Bristol was asking for paper jams while the vellum actually fed quite easily. ”
