Matter’s annual holiday promotional pieces have developed a theme of reusing the foil dieline in different positions to achieve different-but-related pieces. This year, the repeated element contains a T.S. Elliot quote that contributes to the overall piece’s poetic integrity. And once again, the firm has generated a splendid reminder for clients and potential clients that Matter is there to help them “matter to those who matter most to them.”

Project Description

Every January, Matter Strategic Design creates a piece for all current and prospective clients with the same design objectives—it has to be smart, beautiful, highlight the new year, and be something useful so that the recipient will keep it, and therefore the brand, top of their mind. This year's piece notepad masquerading as 2 foil-stamped posters. Recipients are encouraged to get personal by dividing each poster into its 14 perforated pieces of notepaper and write a message to someone who matters to them. All distributed in a custom, telescopic mailing tube.

Production Lesson(s)

Much like previous promotions, we reused the foil dieline on both posters. By simply changing the position of the foil we get the impression of having multiple artworks without incurring the cost of additional dielines.”
