Middletown Lumber’s newsletter, “Ramblin’ Lengths”, features an assortment of typefaces that do a good job of complementing one another with the right amount of contrast. Mixing these many typefaces can be a challenge and this is an example of a successful execution. The background texture printed on the paper is also a nice touch that helps reinforce the vintage feel of the newsletter.

This quaint, 3rd generation lumber yard has been serving the Central Pennsylvania’s custom home building and remodeling for over 50 years. We found inspiration for their bi-annual newsletter, “Ramblin’ Lengths”, in rudimentary printing, old forestry diagrams, stenciled shipping crates and stained, antique papers from the late 1800s.
