For the beer nerds, this poster has it all—even math. The rest of us, drunk on the beer, can gaze at the gorgeous graphics, grateful someone else is doing the hard part.

I began home brewing beer while at design school and quickly found myself wishing there was some way to visualize how different types of hops would effect the various recipes I was working on. I started toying around with a data visualization that would illustrate the acid and oil content of beer brewing hops, which influence the bitterness flavors and aromas of finished beers. While my design studio primarily focuses on digital experiences, this little side project kept getting encouragement from the online home brewing community, so I continued to refine the design and add as many types of hops as I could, and finally did an offset run to make prints available for other brewers and beer enthusiasts.
