Lead Image

Created for Columbus, OH, bike-themed art show “Pinchflat Columbus,” designer Ryan Brinkerhoff’s two-color, geometric montage portrays the aggressive attitude of the culture while French Paper Speckletone and blue-and-red-makes-purple tones capture the softer side of city cycling.

Project Description

I created this poster for Pinchflat Columbus' second bike-themed art show. I wanted to capture some of the attitude of city bike riding through a montage of imagery including U-Locks, buttcracks, hill bombing, and traffic-filled commutes. Simple geometric shapes and subtle texture work in tandem (get it) to achieve a classic yet modern poster design.

Production Lesson(s)

Only two colors were used, one of them being translucent to create the overlapping purple tone. ”
