Project Description

Material Lab is a UK-based materials studio bursting with innovation and creativity as well as a huge range of materials and trends to inspire the architecture and design community and fuel their projects.

The booklet was created to promote Mat Lab, capture the essence of the studio, and appeal to designers and architects alike. The booklet itself was inspired by the variety and vibrancy of materials on offer by the mixing of different print techniques and through the use of paper of various stock, color and texture.

Four different page sizes are used across 20 pages and the booklet is finished and bound with yellow thread. Finally an A3 poster insert sits behind a page of a smaller size providing yet another contrasting colour and dimension to the piece.

Production Lesson(s)

Using a creative printer is a must for this type of job, the most challenging part was combining and aligning the pages of various sizes to the centre rather than flush to the bottom. Team Impression cleverly figured out a way to implement the request!”
