Project Description

I have recently self-published a book called the Typefaces. It was born from the two things I do the most of, daddying and designing. The typefaces are faces in type. It’s that easy.

The best way I have found to describe it is ‘for the designer in every child and the child in every designer.’

It works because it is visually simple and fun to read. If it encourages any child or indeed big person, to see familiar things in new ways then that would be amazeballs.

There is also a (cheaper) newspaper edition, t-shirts, and posters.

It has received some lovely words from many peers, including Dalton Maag said they were ‘Beautiful’, but my favourite quote came from my six year old daughter who said "Daddy I love your face book.”

Production Lesson(s)

Print on demand is great–but I would love to bring the cost down. There is almost no profit and yet it is still prohibitive for a lot of people.”
